Or, perhaps it's an issue with my Samsung display - since technically it's a TV screen, and it's quite a few years old at this point. I am wondering if it's an issue with the VGA cable/VGA to DVI adapter I am using. I have never seen anything quite like this and I am very curious as to why this is happening. As soon as the second monitor was plugged in OS X "crashed" - my main monitor went black and the computer seemingly restarted itself as when my monitor cut back on I was back at the Clover bootloader. My next thought was to plug in the second monitor while OS X was running - this wasn't a great idea. I get an error message upon logging in saying your computer was shut down due to an error and then it asks if I want to send Apple an error log, which of course I don't want to do, so I click cancel. I restarted after disconnecting the Samsung display and it booted up just fine with my main ASUS monitor. It seems to refuse to boot into OS X with the second display connected. Press any key to continue or wait for the system to continue automatically - or something along those lines. When selecting OS X, I get a general error message with the I/O symbol in the background and text informing me that OS X encountered an error where it was shut down improperly. Right at the point where it would normally give me the login screen, the monitor turns black and the computer essentially restarts itself and I end up back at Clover bootloader. Clover boots just fine, I select OS X and OS X seems to load like it always does. The problem is OS X won't boot with my Samsung monitor. This is fine because I can set my ASUS monitor as my main display within OS X. Upon boot, the computer uses the Samsung display primarily (can't figure out why). Using the VGA cable that came with my ASUS monitor and the DVI-I to VGA adapter that came with my GTX 970, I attached my Samsung display to my computer. I have an older Samsung 19in 720p TV that has HDMI and VGA inputs. My main monitor is an ASUS VS247 1080p monitor I have been running via DVI-I - this works just fine (it's also how I installed OS X, albeit using a different graphics card). I have a GTX 970 card that has two DVI inputs, DVI-I and DVI-D. I am experiencing a strange problem when attaching a second screen to my graphics card. Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide
